Imus Is Gone

CBS has fired Don Imus. They originally suspended him for 2 weeks, but they announced today they were over his ass.

Les Moonves said, "There has been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in this society. That consideration has weighed most heavily on our minds as we made our decision."
MSNBC fired his ass yesterday after a grip of advertisers pulled out and public outrage grew.
Sirius is going to buy him now, right? Oldie should probably just call it a day and retire on a ranch or something.

CBS and MSNBC only caved in, because cash was involved.

No woman deserves to denigrated, diminished, and marginalized by any man for any reason whatsoever. The current issue is so much bigger than one person. All women deserve to be loved, honored, valued, and respected.

I perceive such tumultuous times as these as "an opportunity for growth." The whole world is watching to see what we, as men and Americans, are going to do next.

Peace.

I think it would be too bad if he was fired because of what he said. If he was fired because the sponsors of his show were pulling out, then that is Capitalism at work.
